A record-breaking 19th Roses Radiothon: 344 448$ raised!

Bathurst, April 25, 2025 – The 19th Roses Radiothon, held April 25 over the air waves of CKLE, CKRO and The Wave, exceeded all expectations by raising an exceptional $344,448, well above the initial goal of $220,000.

Throughout this day of helping others and showing solidarity, the stories shared not only by our patients, but also their loved ones, health care professionals and volunteers resonated both on air and in our hearts. This unprecedented outpouring of support once again demonstrates the public’s commitment to improving health care and supporting the fight against cancer here at home first.

The four participating foundations (Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation, Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus in Caraquet, Lamèque Hospital and CHC Foundation, and Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie) would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the donors, partners, volunteers and media who contributed to this resounding success.

Joining together to say thank you

The leaders from all four regions joined forces to express their deep gratitude. Together, Alice Hébert, Chair of the Roses Radiothon for the Chaleur region, accompanied by Irène Thériault, Ambassador for the same region, Joseph Lanteigne and Annie-Julie Gauvin, Co-Chairs for the Caraquet region, Renée Noël, Chair for the Lamèque region, as well as Éric Robichaud and Solange Thériault, Co-Chairs for the Tracadie region, delivered this message:

“This record amount testifies to a united and committed community. Every donation, large or small, has a direct impact on the lives of patients in our hospitals. We’ve been deeply touched by the stories shared today and extend our heartfelt thanks to all our listeners, donors, volunteers and partners. You are the reason why our community health care system can continue to improve and thrive, right here at home first!

Thanks to the funds raised this year, over $3.8 million has been raised since the inception of the Roses Radiothon. This sum has greatly contributed to improving patient care and strengthening the fight against cancer in the Acadie-Bathurst region.
