Illness, like cancer, spares no one!
We all know someone in our circle who is experiencing health problems. Unfortunately, cancer is still the leading cause of death in Canada, and this affliction strikes our families, our circle of friends and sometimes even a neighbour. There’s probably a face that comes to mind when you hear the word cancer. That’s why we’re asking you to think of these people by making a donation to this fundraiser.
The Roses Radiothon is mobilizing its teams in the Chaleur region and the Acadian Peninsula to raise donations that will enable your local foundation to improve equipment and accessibility to care near you.
The 18th edition of the event will take place on Friday, April 26, 2024, and is an ideal opportunity to honour the courage of people who are fighting or have fought against illness and to contribute to improving health care here at home first.
In our communities, your foundations organize fundraising activities throughout the year to meet growing equipment needs. These new work tools for our health care professionals will save precious time and improve efficiency in the diagnosis and treatment of diseases, one of which is cancer.
The Roses Radiothon is the crowning event of our 2024 campaign. Thanks to our partners at three radio stations and numerous volunteers, we hope to raise your awareness by inviting you to take concrete action in recognition of the importance of access to quality care close to home.
On Friday, April 26, give to one of our four hospitals in the region and help us reach the $190,000 goal of the 2024 Roses Radiothon.
It’s not the size of the donation that counts, but the scope of each individual’s gesture that makes a real difference in the lives of people in your community. Thanks to contributions from individuals and businesses in the region, people you know can receive quality health care in the region, close to where they live and their families! We are seeking your support today in order to purchase essential medical equipment that will help increase the quality of care we offer our patients. Every single donation will play a major role in our ability to ensure a safe and effective care environment. Please let us explain how essential and qualitative every piece of equipment is.
Chaleur Regional Hospital Foundation:
- A probe for the Surgical Suite used in breast cancer procedures will increase the number of patients seen per day;
- A medical device for the Gynecology Clinic used in an innovative and minimally invasive procedure will remove pathologies quickly and thereby eliminate the need for major surgery;
- Following breast cancer surgery, the Breast Health Clinic will provide foam prostheses that considerably reduce the risk of problems;
- In conjunction with the arrival of a uro-oncologist, 3D medical imaging of the prostate will now be available
Fondation Hôpital de l’Enfant-Jésus:
- In the medical unit, purchasing a patient lift will allow for a single caregiver to help a patient go from a sitting position to a standing position. Designed ergonomically, this new device promotes comfort and safety during this important transition. With your support, we can offer more personalized care, thus improving the mobility and quality of life of patients.
- Your donations will help us refresh our speech therapy material for children. Constant disinfection is essential to guarantee a clean and stimulating therapeutic environment, but it increases the wear and tear of the material. By investing in new toys and equipment, you are letting children learn in a meaningful way while improving their experience in therapy.
- Our emergency department needs an advanced ultrasound system. This system offers the best images it its category, therefore improving the accuracy of diagnoses and the timeliness of interventions in urgent situations. Your contribution will help save lives by ensuring a better performance when every second counts.
- Purchasing an exam table specifically designed for gynecological clinics proves necessary. This equipment will enhance the comfort of patients during medical interventions and allow easy access to gynecological exams. With more than 90 patients per month, your support will greatly impact the quality of gynecological care we offer our community.
Fondation de l’Hôpital de Lamèque:
- Your financial support will help us purchase geriatric chairs for the appointment or walk-in clinics and for ambulatory care clinics. These chairs help safely lift patients and they are essential to ensure that our patients can eat in a sitting position, therefore preventing sores and maintaining their well-being. Your donation will increase the comfort and safety of elderly patients in our hospital.
- Your contribution will help us purchase electronic sphygmomanometers for our appointment or walk-in clinics and ambulatory care clinics. These devices are essential to accurately measure our patients’ blood pressure, thus allowing us to ensure constant monitoring and quick intervention if need be. Your donation will have a direct impact on the proactive monitoring of our patients’ health.
- To ensure that our patients can be moved safely, we need adapted wheelchairs. Your generosity will help us purchase this essential equipment, making it easier to move patients and ensuring high-quality care. These chairs will help increase the autonomy and comfort of mobility-impaired people.
- The safety of our employees is a priority in our appointment or walk-in clinics and ambulatory care clinics. Your donation will help us purchase 5-caster stools, ensuring a safe and stable base for our employees during treatments. These stools will help increase the quality of care by offering a safe and effective work environment.
Fondation Les Amis de l’Hôpital de Tracadie:
- We will be implementing in our ambulatory care services a leading-edge technology aimed at improving the diagnosis and treatment of bladder conditions. The procedure helps ensure accurate diagnosis and targeted interventions, thus improving the quality of care we offer our patients.
- Details play a very important role in the medical field since the accuracy of all diagnoses and treatments is crucial. The medical imagery department wishes to purchase equipment that will ensure that a patient’s condition is being monitored and that all clinical and surgical uses are clear and accurate.
- In our emergency department, it is of critical importance to move patients quickly and safely. We would like to purchase weighted and regular stretchers to ensure that patients can be moved safely. This equipment is essential to guarantee that patients are assessed quickly and moved safely in emergency situations.
